A:I've been bored recently. I need to do something to im-prove my life.
B:.Have you thought about taking one kind of course in the evening?
A :I've never thought about it. But I think I need to improvemy skills as a business man.
B: Well, like negotiating tactics,such kind of self-improvement courses can help you a lot in your career.
A:That's right. I'll pick some courses. I've never learned af-ter leaving from university.
B:Neither do I. But sometimes I find my knowledge and skillsare running out like burning candles.
A:Um,so there is a saying that,"You will be never too old tolearn".
B:Right. A lot of companies provide various kinds of major trainings in order to encourage their workers to continue studying.
A:Really? But I never heard there is any training in our company.
B:.Our company is planning a training course of English recently, because we've expanded our business to abroad.
A:That's great. Can I have the opportunity to take part in it?
B:Of course. Every worker has the chance .to join the trainding.

A:真的吗?可是我从来没听说我们公司有培训。

"put one's nose to the grindstone"原意是“鼻子冲着磨刀石”,引申意义是“专心工作”。英语中与“nose"相关的习惯用语很多,而且应用几率高,如:"with one's nose in the air(神气活现,自高自大,目空一切); look down one's nose at(藐视,瞧不起,不理会),thumb one's nose (at) sb.〔(对……)做蔑视的手势(把拇指搁在鼻端,其余四指张开),无视,拒不服从〕;not to be able to see beyond one's nose (鼠目寸光,见识短);Put one's nose in (露面,出现,到场)”。
